Inmate Commissary

The Yuma County Detention Center allows inmates to order commissary through the approved vendor. The profits from commissary sales, telephone use, and remote visits are used to purchase items used by the inmates. No tax dollars are used to subsidize the inmate purchases, which include library books, educational supplies, and inmate supplies such as televisions, DVD players, recreational equipment and the inmate Law Library.

Commissary Items

Inmates cannot have clothing or other items dropped off to them. Inmates can purchase T-shirts, underwear and socks through the Detention Center Commissary. Inmates can also purchase items such as phone time, writing paper, stamps, envelopes, snacks and hygiene items through the Detention Center Commissary. Inmates may have limited access to commissary items depending on their housing or other issues.

See Inmate Accounts for information regarding depositing funds into an inmate’s commissary account or purchasing phone time.

Clothing for trial appearances can be dropped off with prior approval after the inmate has been scheduled for jury trial. See Inmate Property for more information.

Commissary Online Ordering

Some commissary items, in limited quantities, may now be purchased online and sent to an inmate. The Yuma County Detention Center uses Access Securepak to provide commissary items to inmates once a week.

Access Securepak is a program designed to allow family members and friends to send packages to inmates. Securepak was developed to eliminate contraband and greatly reduce the time and labor required to process packages.

Not all inmates are eligible to receive Access Securepak packages due to housing classifications or other issues. An inmate’s classification also determines what commissary items may be ordered for them. Any unauthorized items received will be placed in the inmate’s bin. The inmate may release the items to an outside party or they can decide to leave it in their bin until their classification changes and they are eligible to receive the commissary items.

Friends and family can place orders through Access Securepak in the following ways:

  • Via internet: You can order from Access Securepak on-line 24 hours a day. They accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Click link to get started: Access Securepak

  • Via Telephone: (800) 546-6283 Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM–10:00 PM MST, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM MST (excluding major holidays)
Orders arrive at the Detention Center every Thursday. There is a processing fee for each commissary order that is subject to change.

For any questions regarding your package, please call Access Securepak Customer Service at 1-800-546-6283.
