On Friday, July 18, 2014, at approximately 6:40 a.m., agents with the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Task Force, with the assistance of the U.S. Border Patrol Canine and Intel Unit, served a search warrant at 424 S. 13th Avenue in Yuma. Multiple citizen complaints reporting activity consistent with narcotics activity led to the narcotics investigation.
The search warrant resulted in the seizure of heroin, a usable amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, cash and various paraphernalia consistent with illegal drug use and sales.
The subject of the search warrant, Homer Dixon, a 63 year old male, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center for possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of a dangerous drug, and possession of marijuana.
Dixon’s residence is located across the street from a public park and community pool, and approximately 300 feet from an elementary school and therefore, he was also charged with possession/sale of narcotics, dangerous drugs, and marijuana in a Drug Free School Zone.
