Food Drive

Location of Incident: Foothills Area - Yuma, AZ

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, along with other County Departments, has accepted the challenge to participate in the “Feed the Need” food drive to assist the Yuma Community Food Bank.

On Friday, October 4, 2013, Yuma County Sheriff’s Office volunteers, Explorers and representatives from “The Arresting Hunger Team” will be out in the Foothills area (East Subdivision) handing out over 650 flyers asking residents for donations of canned goods and/or non-perishable food items. For their convenience, a grocery bag will also be provided to the residents for them to place their donated food items.

On Sunday, October 6, 2013, between the hours of 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., our team will then return to pick up all donations that are left out on the doorsteps.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office has also set up donation boxes at the Main Office located at 141 S. 3rd Avenue and the Foothills Substation located at 13190 E. South Frontage Road. The public can drop off donations of canned goods and/or non-perishable food items at either location, Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Please be aware that we will not be knocking on resident’s doors or seeking monetary donations. If you are approached with any solicitation other than the food donation please contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office immediately at (928) 783-4427.
