Online Auctions
In an effort to reduce costs to the tax payers of Yuma County, the Sheriff’s Office is now auctioning seized vehicles via an on-line auction site. The revenue from the on-line auctions will be used by the Sheriff’s Office to continue to fund the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force in an ongoing effort to reduce drug related crimes in Yuma County. 

The Sheriff’s Office will be adding additional vehicles as they become available. Future auctions may also include other seized or abandoned items along with fleet vehicles. Click link below for current auctions.

In order to view and/or participate in the online auctions, you must register and create a user name and password. Once you register, you will be able to view more details regarding the auction items, i.e., bid history, questions, etc.

Notice of Sheriff's Sale - Perishable, Personal and Real Property

 

Perishable, Personal and Real Property
Once property has been seized and is available for auction, A.R.S. 12-1621, Para. A, Section 1 requires notice of sales to be posted at three (3) locations within the county.  The Yuma County Sheriff's Office posts notices at the following locations:
  1. On this website
  2. The property location
  3. Yuma County Superior Court, 250 W. 2nd Street, Yuma, AZ 85364
  4. Yuma County Sheriff's Office - Main Office, 141 S. 3rd Avenue, Yuma, AZ  85364

For the sale of personal property other than that which is perishable, the Sheriff's Office shall post a "Notice of Sale" for not less than ten days successively before the day of sale as per A.R.S. 12-1621, Para. A, Section 2.

Seized property eligible for sale is sold at the location at which it is stored unless otherwise noted. The "Notice of Sale" documentation will outline the specific location of sale.

Auctions and sales will take place as a result of adjudicated court cases, at the following location:

LEE ANN CANNON and WENDELL CANNON, a married couple, Plaintiffs, v. CHARLES E. DODD and CATHERINE S. DODD LIVING TRUST, dated October 6, 1995, Defendant.

WHEREAS, pursuant to an execution issued in the above-entitled action upon a Judgment for Lee Ann Cannon and Wendell Cannon and against the Charles E. Dodd and Catherine S. Dodd Living Trust, dated October 6, 1995, entered on the 18th day of June, 2013, in the amount of $88,183.94 together with interest thereon from said date at the rate of ten percent per annum and costs in the sum of$91,616.78 and accruing costs, I have levied upon all of the right, title, and interest of the judgment debtor in the property described as follows:

Parcel 1 (Taxpayer  ID Number 663-21-042): That portion of the West half of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section 25, Township 8 South, Range 24 West, Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian Yuma County, Arizona, described as follows:

BEGINNING at the west quarter corner of said Section 25, thence South 00 degrees 12 minutes 45 seconds East along the west line of said Section 25 a distance of 967.98 feet; thence North 89 degrees 32 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 50.00 feet to a point on the Easterly right of way line of Avenue “D” said point being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence South 00 degrees 12 minutes 45 seconds East along said East line a distance of 126.00 feet; thence North 89 degrees 32 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 160.00 feet; thence North 44 degrees 36 minutes 49 seconds East a distance of 50.68 feet; thence North 01 degrees 13 minutes 44 seconds East a distance of 90.25 feet; thence South 89 degrees 32 minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 198.00 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING. EXCEPT the reservation of an ingress and egress easement of the South 20 feet of the above mentioned parcel.

Parcel 2 (Taxpayer ID Number 663-21-041): That portion of the West half of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section 25, Township 8 South, Range 24 West, Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian Yuma County, Arizona, described as follows:

BEGINNING at the west quarter corner of said Section 25, thence South 00 degrees 12 minutes 45 seconds East along the west line of said Section 25 a distance of 967.98 feet; thence North 89 degrees 32 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 248.00 feet, said point being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence North 89 degrees 32 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 294.15 feet to a point on the Westerly right of way line of Cloyd Lateral Canal; thence South 04 degrees 01 minutes 56 seconds East along the Westerly right of way of Cloyd Lateral Canal a distance of 165.31 feet to the beginning of a curve to the right having a radius of 153.20 feet and a delta angle of 92 degrees 47 minutes 29 seconds, thence along said curve and westerly right of way of Cloyd Lateral canal a distance of 248.11 feet; thence South 89 degrees 50 minutes 13 seconds West along northerly right of way line of said Cloyd Lateral Canal a distance of 190.00 feet; thence North 00 degrees 12 minutes 47 seconds West a distance of 197.84 feet; thence North 44 degrees 36 minutes 49 seconds East a distance of 50.68 feet; thence North 01 degrees 13 minutes 44 seconds East a distance of 90.25 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that I, the Sheriff of Yuma County, on the 4th day of February, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the front door of the Yuma County Courthouse in Yuma, Arizona, will sell at public auction to the highest bidder for cash all of the right, title, and interest of the Charles E. Dodd and Catherine S. Dodd Living Trust, dated October 6, 1995 in and to the above-described property to satisfy said Judgment.

Notice to Judgment Debtor

Title 33, chapter 8, article 1 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, may permit you to protect your residence from certain types of legal process by recording a claim of homestead.
