Physical Fitness Test   

Applicants should wear a t-shirt, gym shorts or sweat pants, tennis or running shoes and/or clothing to aid them in participation.  The physical fitness test consist of:

99-Yard Obstacle Course (DO, Deputy, Reserve Deputy): Run a 99-yard obstacle course consisting of several sharp turns, a number of curb height obstacles, and a 34-inch obstacle that must be vaulted.

Body Drag (DO, Deputy, Reserve Deputy): Lift and drag a 165-p
ound life like dummy a distance of 32 feet.

 

 


 

Chain Link Fence: (Deputy & Reserve Deputy) Run five yards to a six foot chain link fence, climb over fence, continue running another 25 yards.
Solid Fence Climb: (Deputy & Reserve Deputy) Run five yards to a six foot solid fence, climb over fence, continue running another 25 yards.


500-Yard Run: (DO, Deputy, Reserve Deputy)
Run 500 yards (equivalent to one lap plus 60 yards of a standard running track).


Deputy applicants only
A total score of 384 points is required to pass the physical fitness evaluation.

Detention Officer applicants only
A total score of 196 points is required to pass the physical fitness evaluation.
